Choosing a Pet Cremation Provider:  Five Questions You Should Ask

Did you know that the pet cremation industry is unregulated?  This means that there is no accountability at a state or federal level for businesses offering pet cremation services.  If you are considering cremation for your beloved pet, here are five questions you should ask before selecting a provider:

1 – Do you have your own on-site crematory?  Businesses offering pet cremation services may use off-site or out-of-town providers.  It is also important to know if your pet is being cremated in a legitimate crematory versus a make-shift incinerator.  We have our own on-site crematory specifically for pets.

2 – Do you offer private pet cremation?  Many pet cremation facilities say they offer private cremation, but, in reality, their pet is cremated with other animals with partitions in place.  We offer 100% private pet cremation – your pet is cremated alone.

3 – May I tour and inspect your facility?  It may be a reg flag if a pet cremation provider will not let you see behind the scenes.  We offer private tours and an opportunity to conduct a full inspection of our facility and crematory.

4 – How do you guarantee that I will receive my pet’s cremated remains?  A good provider will offer a method to ensure that you receive your pet’s correct remains.  We utilize a unique stainless steel disc to track all pet cremations, thus ensuring proper identification.   Additionally, we offer the opportunity to witness your pet’s cremation.

5 – How long does it take to receive my pet’s cremated remains?  Pet cremation providers should return your pet’s cremated remains in a timely manner.  In most cases, we can complete the entire process within 24 hours, excluding weekends, holidays, special order urns, etc.

We are a full-disclosure facility and welcome your interest and questions into every aspect of our business.  We’ll make sure your pet receives the dignified care they deserve while treating you with respect and compassion during a difficult time.

When you said that companies that provide pet cremation services could work with off-site or out-of-town suppliers, I thought that was fascinating. Additionally, it’s critical to understand if your pet is being burned in a certified crematory or a makeshift incinerator. My closest friend’s Labrador, who was eight years old, went away this morning, so I’m going to tell her about it. Because she loves her dog so much, she is sad, therefore I will advise her to take your guidance while looking for a pet cremation service.

Thank you for reading our article! It is critical to understand the specific services that are provided when a pet passes away, and not all pet cremation is performed in the same manner. We are pleased to offer an on-site crematory and can usually have the cremated remains returned within 24 to 48 hours. We appreciate your comment!

You made a great point about how pet cremation companies should promptly return your pet’s cremated ashes. I’m going to tell my closest friend about this because her Labrador, who was eight years old, passed suddenly this morning. She is devastated since she loves her dog so much, therefore I will beg her to consider your advice.
